Whenever I have a conflict with a client, you'll probably hear about simply because sharing these stories lets you see what it's like to work with me.
I was working on a project that required graphic design. I'm a copywriter, not a graphic designer, so hired someone to do the graphic design part.
If I can get someone else to get part of a job done quicker and better than me, I will do it and use the budget to pay the contractor.
Sometimes I have plans to go to the community college and get better at things like graphic design, video editing. I just got the Adobe Creative Cloud through Penn State with my student account so I'm ready to go.
But right now, I'm focused on my strategic communications classes and improving my copywriting skills.
The other day a client got upset because I used a subcontractor on a project, rather than do everything myself.
I'm telling you now because to me, sometimes it makes more sense to bring someone in to help. I feel good about giving work to my colleagues and creating a network where we share out talents.
But I am curious to know what technical, artistic or computer skills are absolutely essential in your business? What is a skill that you can not live without? (Just reply to this email to let me know).
Talk to you later!
Mandy
