6 tips to add YouTube videos to your content marketing strategy

Updated: Sep 5, 2022

6 tips to add YouTube videos to your content marketing plan Everyday people watch over 5 billion videos on YouTube, with over 30 million visitors per day. YouTube reaches more 19-49-year-old’s than any cable network. Using YouTube can be a cost-effective way to grow your audience and keep them engaged, and also improve your SEO. Here are 6 tips to incorporate video into your content marketing plan. 1) Plan your videos around the questions your customers and prospects are asking. Make a list of ten questions that people ask you. Make another list of ten questions you wish people would ask you. Dig deeper by finding an online community of ideal prospects and hang out in the forum and find out what questions are being asked, what people are trying to do and what problems they are trying to solve. Develop a series of videos around all of those Q&A’s. 2) Think in terms of campaigns.

Instead of making just one standalone video, make several videos on a related topic and organize them into a playlist, so people can go from one video to the next, which will increase the views of all the videos. 3) Use your SEO keywords in the headline of your video and mention that keyword in the first sentence of the script. YouTube uses software to transcribe the videos and make sure that the content of the video matches the title and the description. 4) Use the videos on your website and combine it with high quality written content. This increases the authority of your website and increases the number of views on your YouTube channel. 5) Speed counts. Get as many views as possible within the first week. If you wait a week to promote your YouTube Video, it might be too late. Why the rush? The number of views a video gets is one of the biggest factors that affect the ranking, and it makes a difference how soon you get those views. If you wait, it can be harder to rank on Google. When the video goes up, share the video on social media platforms and if you plan to boost those posts, do it right away.

Send the video to your email contacts and continue to grow your list. Develop relationships with other marketers and business owners who have lists, so you can promote one another’s videos. Ask them to share the video in advance. 6) Start with a strategic plan. While I like to encourage people to just go for it with their marketing, I also know that a little planning at the beginning can save you a lot of time, money and heartache. That's where I come in. I will create a strategic plan that will help you cut through all the B.S. and zero in on what is most important for your customers, so you can reach out to them in a way that resonates with them. The process will be easy and painless. I will meet with you for a one-hour interview where we discuss your business, your goals, and your ideas. I will get to know you and your customers and what you are trying to achieve. I will do some background digging to get a better idea of where your customers are, mentally. I will compile the information into an actionable plan that will include video and written content. You can use it as a roadmap and marketing guide for the upcoming months.
